Thank you for visiting the Citizens for Kim Wyman webpage.  Supporters like you not only gave me the courage to seek public office in 2001, but have also helped us build an award-winning, nationally recognized office in the years since.  Over the past several months, I have been across the state talking to people about the rigors and inspirations of the campaign.  The most popular question I have been asked is why I am running for Secretary of State?

I am running because this race is about experience.  Experience is one of the most critical elements of professional and political success.  The experiences I’ve gained from being the Thurston County Auditor are specifically relevant to success as Secretary of State.  The Secretary of State oversees our state’s elections, business and nonprofit corporation filings, historical records, and libraries.  Working in the auditor’s office for 20 years, and serving as Thurston County Auditor for the past ten, has uniquely prepared me for this opportunity.

Conducting elections is more important than politics! The last 20 years of my career has demonstrated my commitment to conducting politically impartial and professionally competent elections.  I have a proven track record of conducting 84 accurate, fair, and open elections. That is one reason I have the endorsements of 27 former and current county auditors from across the state.  This list consists of professional and impartial elections administrators, both Democrat and Republican.
